Costumes, props and motorcycles from Captain America and The Avengers...

Hands up who was surprised with how good 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger was. Being a Marvel Comics (and Chris Evans) fan I was worried that the star-spangled Avenger wouldn't live up to the expectations of his big screen Marvel predecessors like Iron Man and Thor, or that his onscreen debut may be a corny, patriotic mess. Fortunately my fears were proven wrong and I loved every minute of Cap's World War II origin and action romp.

The Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibition at The Reagan Library had these original motorcycles used in the movie on July 17, 2012, plus Captain America's shield and modern day uniform from The Avengers on display.

I don't believe this updated costume designed by Alexandra Byrne was actually worn by Chris Evans in 2012's The Avengers, but the whole thing is instead a prop from Cap's ready room locker set from the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

It's still pretty cool though and provides great detail of the patriotic uniform, especially if you plan to make it yourself for Halloween or Cosplay purposes. Obviously it goes without saying, where Captain America entertained, The Avengers simply blew me away and totally exceeded all my expectations.

Meanwhile, 'Steve Rogers' 1942 WLA motorcycle, driven by Chris Evans in the titular hero's solo movie, is a modified Harley-Davidson 'Cross Bones' motorcycle.

The other motorcycle on display is a modified Honda CRF250X Motocross bike complete with Hydra emblem, used by the 'Red Skull's' personal Hydra army against Cap and the Allied Forces.

  1. The zoot suits have had a tough time in their existence during 1942 as they were banned by the Federal War Production Board. They ban Replica Watches was initiated since they thought the suits were wasteful of fabric. Following this, in 1943 the zoot suit riot erupted in Los Angeles and this made the Rolex Replica style very popular among Mexican- American youths. But they received harsh reaction. The soldiers and sailors started beating up people wearing the replica uhren suits in areas of East Los Angeles, which was the heart of the Latino community. Even the Breitling Replica African-Americans and Filipino Americans were also not spared.
