No stranger to the world of period dramas after starring in the likes of Pride & Prejudice and The Duchess, Keira Knightley returns to the familiar trappings of history in the latest big screen adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's literary masterpiece, Anna Karenina.

Set in late 19th century Russian high-society, the titular aristocrat 'Anna Karenina' enters into a life-changing affair with the wealthy and dashing 'Count Vronsky' (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).

These original costumes from the movie designed by Jacqueline Durran were photographed on display within the ArcLight Hollywood cinema foyer on November 8, 2012. You can also see the twice Oscar-nominated designer's work in Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, plus these costumes from Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

In this latest cinematic version directed by Joe Wright from a screenplay by Tom Stoppard, Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the passionate lover of the aristocratic socialite.

Keira Knightley is the latest in a long line of actresses to portray the famous literary character and wears this black dress in the movie (although it's always hard photographing the intricate detail of black costumes).

It looks like Emma Watson is off to a good start (without having to strip naked on a Broadway stage) as 'Sam' in the high school drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

There's nothing like an evil fairytale queen to kick off the run up to Halloween, so enjoy this amazing costume worn by Susan Sarandon as 'Queen Narissa' in Disney's Enchanted from 2007.

Amy Adams stars as the singing, dancing and dress-making 'Giselle' that can talk to the animals in this funny storybook take on a romantic comedy.
